KONA RAINFOREST AND NATIVE KONA ROAST GARNER FIRST IN THE EIGHTH ANNUAL KEAUHOU RESORT KONA COFFEE LABEL & WEBSITE COMPETITION

KEAUHOU, HAWAII'S BIG ISLAND (November 2007)—Kona Rainforest was
awarded top label in the Keauhou Resort Kona Coffee Label & Website Competition while www.Nativekona.com took home top honors in the website category.

A record number of 200 entries were submitted in the Keauhou Resort Kona Coffee Label & Website Competition vying for $3,350 in cash prizes and awards.

Chairman Valery O’Brien shared, ‘We had a record breaking entry year with over 150 entries for our label contest and over 50 web site entries! Every year our contest surprises me with all the wonderful talent in our community. In addition, this year we had over 50 mock entries from the Konawaena High School Computer Graphics Class. There is great talent emerging from our youth and we hope to have other high schools join in next year. Kamehameha Investment Corporation will donate $300 to the Konawaena High School Computer Graphics Class.’

Winning Kona coffee labels must promote 100% Kona coffee, use art or graphics, express the message clearly and comply with the Hawaii State label laws.

The websites were similarly judged, but the requirements included that the website be dedicated to the promotion of Kona coffee only, have a strong identification to Kona and that the order process is a simple one with a secure system.
