The annual Kona coffee harvest, one of the Big Island's most economically successful crops, is celebrated every November at the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival. This 10-day festival with more than 30 community events honors the multi-ethnic heritage of Kona's coffee pioneers and their gourmet brew. Recognized as the oldest and most successful product festival in Hawaii, the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is also the only coffee festival in the United States. The festival combines the modern-day infatuation with coffee with the industry's old-world history as visitors, residents and farmers gather together to salute Kona coffee.

There's something for everyone at the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival including the highly anticipated Kona Coffee Cupping Competition, recipe contests for both amateurs and culinary professionals, coffee picking contests, colorful parades, and a cultural smorgasbord of food, music, dance, arts and crafts from Kona's diverse ethnic heritage.

At the signature cupping competition, Kona coffee is judged by a panel of industry experts from around the world. During the two-day event the judges discern the "best of the best" among Kona coffee farms. This event furthers only the very highest quality standards for Kona coffee.
